1. AKW Scotch Yoke Pneumatic Actuator Overview
AKW pneumatic actuators are divided into double-acting and single-acting (spring return), two split cylinders, large output torque, flexible and stable action; the piston rod is hard chrome plated, with good anti-abrasiveness; all sliding parts are equipped with oil-free lubricated bearings or guide rings to reduce the friction coefficient and extend the service life.
The C-curve characteristic output torque of AKW pneumatic actuator is more suitable for large-diameter ball valves and butterfly valves. It is widely used in various valves such as regulating valves, ball valves, butterfly valves, gate valves, slurry valves, stop valves, and plug valves. It is an ideal device for realizing remote centralized or individual control of industrial automation pipelines.

A: Output shaft
The output torque is large, the action is flexible and stable; the piston rod is hard chrome plated, which has good wear resistance; all sliding parts are equipped with oil-free lubricated bearings or guide rings to reduce the friction coefficient and prolong the service life
B: Handle Wheel
When the circuit or gas line is cut off or there is a fault, the valve will automatically close or open by the spring, and the handle can be turned to open or close the valve.
C: Adjustment screws
Two separate adjustment screws on the outer side are more accurate and convenient for the actuator installed on the valve to adjust the open and closed position of the valve. If full stroke adjustment is required, longer adjustment screws are also configured on the two end covers.
D: Cylinder
The cylinder body is made of ductile iron, the inner surface is coated with PTFE, and the inner hole is precisely machined, which has a longer service life and a low friction coefficient.

4. AKW Scotch Yoke Pneumatic Actuator Functions and Accessories
Double-acting pneumatic actuator: two-position control of valve opening and closing.
Spring reset type: when the circuit or gas line is cut off or there is a fault, the valve automatically opens or closes.
Single-electric solenoid valve: the valve opens or closes when the power is supplied, and closes or opens when the power is off (explosion-proof type is available).
Double-electric solenoid valve: the valve opens when one coil is energized, and the valve closes when the other coil is energized, with memory function (explosion-proof type is available).
Limit switch feedback device: long-distance transmission of valve switch position signal (explosion-proof type is available).
Electrical positioner: according to the current signal (standard 4~20mA) size, the medium flow of the valve is regulated and controlled. (Explosion-proof type is available).
Pneumatic positioner: according to the air pressure signal (standard 0.02~0.1Mpa) size, the medium flow of the valve is regulated and controlled.
Electrical converter: converts the current signal into an air pressure signal, and is used in conjunction with the pneumatic positioner (explosion-proof type is available).
Air source processing triplex: including air pressure reducing valve, filter, oil mist collector, which can stabilize the air source pressure, clean and lubricate the moving parts.
Manual operation mechanism: automatic control can be operated manually under abnormal conditions.

7. AKW Scotch Yoke Pneumatic Actuator Selection and Maintenance
When using AKW pneumatic actuator, first determine the torque of the valve, considering the pipeline medium: for clean, frictionless lubricating media, add 20% safety value, water vapor or non-lubricating media, add 25% safety value, non-lubricating dry gas media, add 60% safety value, non-lubricating gas-transported granular powder media, add 100% safety value.
Then, according to the working pressure of the gas source, find the double-acting or single-acting torque table to get the accurate actuator model.
Whether the pneumatic actuator and valve installation accuracy is correct directly affects the safe operation and service life of the actuator. Reasonable installation is to ensure the coaxiality of the actuator shaft and the valve stem. The valve torque should be measured before the actuator and valve are assembled, and it should not exceed the required torque.
After assembly, the pneumatic actuator and the valve are tested at the same time. The balancing valve is closed (without the manual mechanism, the balancing valve is not provided). The rated sealing pressure of the valve is applied. The actuator switches the two air inlets of the pneumatic actuator with the air source pressure of 0.4~0.7MPa or the air source pressure required by the user. When the air is supplied, the opening and closing of the pneumatic valve should be observed. There should be no pause or creeping phenomenon. The switch should rotate flexibly. Repeated tests should be performed many times. When debugging the pneumatic actuator equipped with a solenoid valve, the manual device (the red button of the solenoid valve) should be used for debugging first, and then the power should be turned on for debugging. When the manual mechanism is used for operation, the air source should be cut off first, and the worm gear of the manual mechanism should be disengaged from the worm gear first, that is, the small handle should be turned to the automatic position.
The pneumatic actuator is a field instrument and should be maintained and serviced regularly. The air source of the actuator should be kept dry and clean, and the air filter used with the actuator should be waterproofed and drained regularly to avoid entering the solenoid valve and the actuator and affecting normal operation. Under normal use, it should be inspected every six months and overhauled once a year.

They must have explosion-proof certificates and production licenses issued by the National Explosion-proof Electrical Inspection Center. By 2020, the production license will be cancelled and converted to 3C certification. Coal mine products have mining product safety mark certificates (referred to as coal safety certification) and mining product explosion-proof certificates. This coal mine certification product is our company's advantage product. At present, in the electric actuator industry, only 6 actuator manufacturers in China have such mining valve actuator certificates. Domestic coal mines must have products with this mining safety certificate to be used on pipelines underground in coal mines. Q3: If this product can be operated using WiFi, are there any anti-theft wall measures?
*AK smart series has GPRS mobile phone card wireless control function, which is a special optional function with name, password and verification code to ensure security. This function is not widely used in China at present. It will be considered in some special areas where control cables cannot be laid but there is a signal network.

Q10: What material is this product made of?
*The product has two types of materials: iron shell and aluminum shell. The aluminum shell is small and the small size of the AK intelligent series is aluminum shell, and the conventional model and large size are cast iron. The large size has a large output torque, and the cast iron shell is used because cast iron has a strong pressure bearing capacity.

If the valve switching frequency is very high, the actuator will be used more frequently, and the internal gears and turbines, worms, nuts, etc. will have certain wear, but it is much longer than the service life of the valve. Some valves on pipelines need to be replaced after a few years. Generally, the actuator will be replaced at the same time as the valve.
